The CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) number is important because it indicates that the dog has undergone comprehensive health screening and has met the required health clearances for its breed. This includes tests for common hereditary conditions, ensuring that the dog is less likely to pass on genetic health issues to its puppies.

This includes tests for common hereditary conditions, ensuring that the dog is less likely to pass on genetic health issues to its puppies. In short, a CHIC number provides reassurance to potential buyers that the puppies are coming from healthy, well-screened parents.
"If you’re considering adding a Golden Retriever or any other breed to your family, we wholeheartedly encourage you to ensure that both parents have a CHIC number, even if you choose not to get a puppy from us. This is an important step toward the betterment of the breed, and it helps ensure healthier, happier dogs for everyone! "
Both Rory and Peanut have their CHIC numbers, confirming their health and suitability as breeding dogs.
We chose to breed Peanut because she has far exceeded our expectations in every way. Originally brought into our family as a beloved companion with the potential to become a hunting partner, Peanut quickly proved her exceptional abilities in everything from hunting to Rally Obedience. While her recent breeding may not showcase formal titles, her lineage traces back to titled and proven dogs, reflecting her strong genetics and potential.
Peanut’s accomplishments are even more remarkable considering her training has been completely amateur, without the use of an e-collar or force fetch. Within just a few months of attempting, she passed her Hunt Test in both Started and Seasoned. Tested in a limited number of trials, her achievements are even more impressive, demonstrating genuine skill rather than just accumulating attempts. Her drive and natural beauty make her exactly the kind of dog I want by my side on every hunt. She's reliable, focused, and always ready for the task at hand—a perfect partner in the field.
In addition to her hunting success, Peanut excelled in three consecutive Rally Obedience classes in 2023, earning an invitation to the Rally Nationals in 2024 with her Rally Novice title. Her intelligence, beauty, and wonderful temperament make her the perfect all-around dog, and she capped off her achievements by earning her Rally Advanced title in 2024 with an impressive score of 99.
We’re incredibly fond of Peanut and plan to keep one of her puppies, confident that they will inherit her exceptional skills, looks, and wonderful temperament. If you’re seeking a versatile, loyal, and highly trainable companion, one of her puppies could be a great fit.
This breeding is something we’ve planned with care, with Rory as the sire, the pairing makes perfect sense, especially given the strong interest in Rory’s lineage and his impressive reputation. These puppies will have the potential to excel in both the field and as loyal family companions. With the best qualities from both parents, these puppies will be a wonderful addition to any home!
